A group of 25 local residents, aged 6 to 60, each constructed a model house based on Steveston’s historic fishermen’s homes, which were raised on stilts in tidal areas. The workshops took place at a historic ship-building complex which has extant examples of these homes. This project was almost entirely made of recycled materials found locally. Participants selected packaging materials and collaged sliced pieces as cladding and details.
